What is a checkpoint?
A checkpoint is a private snapshot of your draft at that moment. It helps record how the writing changed over time. The snapshot stays in this browser; only privacy-minimized measurements and hashes are sent if you later choose to submit.
When should I capture one?
- After your opening: once you have an introduction and the direction of the essay.
- About halfway through: after you have developed several ideas or paragraphs.
- At the end: after revising the complete 550–700 word essay. This final checkpoint must match the draft you finalize.

Capture at least three checkpoints over at least one minute. Capturing does not submit your writing.
Disclose assistance honestly
OptionalOnly select assistance you actually used. If you wrote without AI, translation, accessibility, template, quotation, or collaboration assistance, leave every box unchecked.
Finalize your writing
This step stays local. It checks that your final draft matches the checkpoints captured in this browser. It does not submit anything.
Submit your writing
This is the submission step. Only after you press the blue button below will CouldItBe receive your final essay, assignment choice, disclosed assistance, and text-free checkpoint record. Checkpoint drafts are not sent. The submission expires after 90 days.
